Chef Operated Food Truck Arrives at Allandale Winery

If you are planning a visit to Lovedale this season, there is a new reason to stop at Allandale Winery. For a limited time, a chef operated food truck is now part of the Entwine Food Trail, serving a native inspired menu created by Chef Lucas Perry.

NATIVE by Chef Lucas Perry is available at Allandale Winery from Thursday to Sunday, between 10:30am and 2:30pm. It is designed to pair beautifully with a relaxed Hunter Valley wine tasting, offering bold flavours that reflect local produce and native ingredients.

What to Expect from the Menu

The Food Trail menu focuses on three standout dishes, each priced at $20, with an emphasis on Australian native flavours and high quality produce.

Kangaroo and Davidson Plum Skewers
Grass fed kangaroo fillet is glazed with a Hunter Shiraz and Davidson plum reduction, finished with finger lime caviar, warrigal greens and a hint of pepperberry smoke. It is rich, balanced and a natural match for Hunter Valley reds.

Grilled Mooloolaba Prawns
Torched king prawns are served with finger lime and anise myrtle butter, presented in a wild lime leaf cone and finished with lemon myrtle salt. This dish is fresh, aromatic and ideal alongside a chilled white wine or rosé.

Charred Eggplant Steak, vegetarian
Eggplant is brined and charred, then served with desert lime labneh, lemon aspen chilli honey and native micro herbs. It is full of flavour and a great option if you are after something plant based without compromising on taste.

Kids meals are also available for $10 upon request, making this an easy stop for families exploring Lovedale together.

A Perfect Addition to Your Hunter Valley Day Out

The arrival of NATIVE at Allandale adds another layer to the Lovedale experience. You can enjoy a relaxed wine tasting, then settle in with food that feels thoughtful, seasonal and distinctly Australian.
